A new luxury hotel developed by John McKibbon of McKibbon Hospitality and his wife, Letitia, has made its debut in the Bahamas.
Located in Great Guana Cay in the Abaco Islands, the Kalopsia Seaside Villas & Marina is a 12-acre resort has 20 one-, two- and four-bedroom Bahamian villas, each with a full kitchen, en suite baths and private balconies. In addition, a 16-slip marina accommodates boats up to 40 feet.
“It has been incredibly rewarding designing and developing Kalopsia Seaside Villas & Marina and watching our vision for the island come to life,” McKibbon, chairman of McKibbon Hospitality and long-time resident, said in a statement. “From its beautiful blue water and calming ocean breezes to its year-round temperate weather, we couldn’t imagine a more beautiful or hospitable backdrop than Great Guana Cay and look forward to sharing this special place with our guests.”
The hotel was inspired by the coral reefs of Abaco Islands, part of one of the largest barrier reef systems in the world. The property includes poolside lounging and open-air dining to walking trails and curated excursions—including snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, and catamaran sails. Guests can also indulge in private chef dinners, in-villa spa treatments and adventures to neighboring islands.
